Flying Again

Well it has been a while since I posted a flying anything. I have several new planes and I updated the Hanger with most of them.

I have been working much of the last 2 weeks on my Clancy Aviation Stagger Bee. RCGroups thread here. The first two flights where more eventful then i had planned. The plane flew on the second flight pretty well. But well, among other things. Wind is not it’s friend. I am gonna fly this one till it won’t fly anymore. I have plans for the next build almost completed. It appears that the biggest weakness of this plane is the lower wing strength when landing. both flights broke the lower wing clean in half.

On a positive note, I restored my ol mini F-22 to flying condition. That’s all for now!

It is done, finally, if any one is interested in reading. It is about Galileo and the evil Holy Roman Empire/Church. Unfortunately I had to tie it all into “Individual in the Chains of Illusion” by Fromm. A rather lame story I have no heart for, and don’t really agree with either. But at least my Story is interesting and unlike Fromm’s, accurate!

Flying and Project Updates

I got some flying in today. It went great, flew around my old Tomhe MiG-29. I am doing alot of research on autopilots and designs for an autonomous uav. I am planning on building a flying wing and using the Ardupilot setup being developed by DIYDrones. It is a pretty nice system. I like the Paparazzi setup too but its a bit costly for me right now.

So that’s my update. I got 4 planes that are still awaiting maiden flights. My Scarm-Blur flying wing, the Talon, a DLG from cliff and the new KFm4 Alula.

Dynaflite Talon

I received my new plane in the mail yesterday. I purchased it online and got an great deal on it. It survived the shipping just fine and looks amazing. It is receiver battery ready, just need the wind and I’ll be ready to fly it!

KFm4 Alula wip

Here are some pictures of the scratch built KFm4 that I have been working on.I finally got the battery for the plane and should have it finished soon.

I have taken the CF and tail from my scratch built alula. The ailerons are balsa this time. At the point the current weight of everything pictured is 2.7oz still need to cut out the top and bottom for the battery/rx area. The ailerons are being held on by masking tape for the pictures.

Scram-Blur Update

Well it’s all finished and ready to fly. It weighs in at under 4.5 oz and I can’t wait to fly it. Maybe Monday if the weather is good. Here are some pictures.

SylvanAircraft Scram-Blur

Ever since Weasel Fest I been looking for a nice slope wing under 24 inches. I found through RC Groups SylvanAircraft (website). They have many powered wings including the Scram-Blur, pictured below. My Zagi did so well on the slope as an unpowered glider, I look forward to trying this one. I plan to build it as light as I can we’ll see how it all works out!

The Scram-Blur runs $27 unpowered.

Flying Again

I went out this morning and threw up the ol tomhe Mig-29 for a flight. Despite soccer players around I managed not to crash on anyone. It was light wents and got in two good flights on it.

It has been a while since I flew anything and so I was a bit nervous but a few moments into it everything came back to me and I had alot of fun.

Downtime - Update

I am starting to sort out all the video from the WeaselFest09 as well as some other footage taken while flying with Cliff and Fred. I will be adding a few new videos starting next week.

I have been working and playing wow a bit much lately but thankfully am burnt out on both so back to flying.

I start school in august and I got the next 3 years at least planned out pretty concrete. After that we’ll see. At the moment the plan is to work towards an Aerospace Engineering degree. Which fits. Once I get reliable transpertation I hope yo make trips out to Santa Maria to get some flying in.

Moving and stuff

Well I have not gotten much chance to do much flying but I am more or less all moved. I still need a place to work and build and the DIU is just sitting there.

Here are some nice pictures of Montana De Oro, I actually got some flying in today and it was pretty fun, but then the wind went away and I got to take a nice nature hike to go get it. You can see the it down there on the beach, nice lil white speck.
