Oh yea, I just wanted to say a few words.

When I first had the thought of a depron dlg, I wasn’t sure which way I was going to build it. Built up or The foamies way. So I let it stew for a while.

Then I remembered the KF airfoil in the foamies section that Tony6565 was doing and when i first had seen his thread I didn’t think to much of it. Now, many months later I went back to get the KF run down. I decided to make my first Depron DLG, The Depron Dynamite using the STEP on the bottom. I wasn’t quite sure of how much I wanted to use the profile due to the fact you do not want a lot of drag in DLG. So I did flat plate style with the step at 35%.

With huge success and tremendous launch heights, I was impressed so I kept throwing my latest dlg, with flaperons. Video taping when I could of how proud I was.

then One day, Mr. DICK KLINE called me. I almost fell out of my truck because I was going out of town. I wondered, how did he get my number, how does he know my name and so on…. Then I remembered U-tube the videos of his airfoil that I filmed.

I felt like Bruce Willis had just called. Mr. Dick Kline is 75 years old and acts like he is 30. Very inspirational to talk to and we have been talking once a week or so. I still cannot believe the History of this airfoil. I will always remember those feelings I had.

Dick, was very excited to see what I was doing with his airfoil, and suggested that there was actually higher lift with the step on top. So I thought, later I shall test.
he also sent some of my info to a Mr. Dick Wood that actually built an Ultralight with the KF airfoil on top and flew it.
We still did not know the optimum placement of the step. I did these tests and video taped on just a freeflight glider based on this one I just posted, only with a 30″ WS. 1.2 ounce auw.

Remarkably the step worked the best at 50%, as far as I could tell from the video tapes and actually being there.

So I just wanted to show my appreciation for everyone’s comments, and the fact that this airfoil still lives and works well for the foamy application for strength and speed of build.
Thanks to the following for my enjoyment of this Hobby.
