Work Bench

Welcome, these are the designs and concepts that are being developed. From complete planes to component functionality, this is where ideas end up.

Title: Dream-Flight Alula Status: Active
Application: Aircraft Build Phase WiP
Construction: 3mm Depron, Bluecore, FFF WorkBench
Buildup
Since the kits are currently not available I decided to draw up and build one from scratch.

Title: FLO² Chaser Status: Active
Application: Aircraft Design Phase Design
Construction: Foam WorkBench
Buildup
Flying Wing designed to carry the flycamone² in the protected nose section. The camera will be able to record whatever is in front, above, or below the aircraft. I wanted something small and portable that I can take places with me and film. View progress on the Work Bench Buildup Page (here)

Title: Northrop YF-23 Status: WiP
Application: Aircraft Design Phase Fourth
Construction: 6mm Depron
After watching Scott’s poor attempts to build an EPP version of this plane I decided that it being one of my favorite planes I needed to design my own. Based off his simple design this is nearly completed and ready to build. I setup the controls more accurate to scale and for a profile plane It should fly great.

Title: Mini-Morback Status: WiP
Application: Aircraft Design Phase Final
Construction: 3mm Depron
The Morback is a well known design in the F3P community, both in its normal and 4D variations. I wanted a slightly smaller design for the power setup I planned to use, However the power setup has changed some. But anyway, I was unable find plans that where not tiled so I took a screen shot and remodeled it in autocad. Thanks for Mark, Files are located on the Phlat forum. Original Morback Mini info is on the RCGroups forum.

Title: Deceleron Mechanics Status: Concept
Application: Component Phase Second
Construction: n/a
Back in the 1940s the Deceleron also called split aileron was developed and used on several Northrop aircraft. These include the flying wing planes of that era. It is now used on more modern aircraft like the A-10 and the B-2. The idea is to return yaw control to an aircraft. The application intent here is for the X-36 tailess fighter concept.

Title: X-36 Tailess Fighter Status: Suspended
Application: Aircraft Design Phase Fourth
Construction: 6mm Depron
In process of helping Dave Powers fix his X-36 control setup issues I began to develope a smaller version for myself. This verson is alot less complex to build and contains all the features to maintain stable flight. Also with the mid mount motor it will appear more scale.

Title: MiG-31 Foxhound Status: WiP
Application: Aircraft Design Phase Second
Construction: 6mm Depron
After finding out about Scott’s MiG-31 Firefox from the Clint Eastwood movie I thought it would be a terrible shame that people should think that is what a MiG-31 really is. So I began design on this plane. the scale is pretty accurate. And thanks goes to BruceM who has taken the plans and built the first prototype. I have plans to fix up the front end and give it a 6mm profile not the 12mm it has.

Title: Lockheed Have Blue Status: Suspended
Application: Aircraft Design Phase First
Construction: n/a
The RCPowers F-117 is one of the finest kits out there, I began design on this shortly after completing the build of my F-117. I never got past the first design but one day perhaps. It is similar to the F-117 in some ways but very different in other ways.

Title: V-Bee Status: Suspended
Application: Aircraft Desgin Phase First
Construction: n/a
This is inspired by the SpeedyBee design that I really like. The plane is basically designed the same but with a V-Tail. Here is a photo of a SpeedyBee built by someone else.

Title: Flying Wing w/Slats Status: Suspended
Application: Aircraft Desgin Phase First
Construction: n/a
The flying wing is a design concept for testing leading edge slats. Design also used a KF Airfoil.

Title: Jetcar Status: WiP
Application: Aircraft Design Phase One
Construction: 6mm Depron
Three wheel pusher prop powered car. Design concept gathered from image below. I like the idea, however am still working out the mechanics of the swing wings. I would like the wings to be retractable, rotating 90 degrees.

Title: Cosmic Wind Status: WiP
Application: Aircraft Desgin Phase First
Construction: n/a
LEVIER W-5 Cosmic Wind is a Pylon Racer from the late 1940s. It is my first fully 3D design that i have began. Not sure how far I will get on it but here are some pictures.
