Sealing an EPP Wing
How to seal an EPP wing with lightweight spackle.
EPP has holes all over the surface due to the
type of foam it is. One way to seal it is with
clear tape. In this example I will show you
how I seal mine with Light Weight Spackle.
First thing I do is spray the surface with water,
The spackle is water based and this helps it get into
dissolve into the holes we are going to fill.
Spread the Spackle over the wing, It wont take much to
fill in the holes. I usually leave a little thicker layer
on the leading edge of the wing.
Allow to dry entirely. The time will be different
depending on how thick you apply the spackle.
Final product is much smoother with almost no weight gain.
